I am happy to be joining the Stockton Folk Dance Camp virtual sessions this summer. I look forward to meeting up with old friends, making new ones, and just generally enjoying the camaraderie.

A brief version of my music life for those of you who don’t know me: I started playing piano at a very young age, went on to violin a few years later, graduated from Carleton College in Minnesota with a degree in music.

I was primarily interested in classical music in those days, but once out of college I started playing for folk dancers of various sorts and eventually found myself specializing in Polish music and Scottish music, particularly the old traditional Scottish music that is so lovely for dancers. I am also a member of the Santa Cruz Symphony, and am greatly looking forward to the opening of the season in October, it’s been way too long a wait!

And for those who want to know about hobbies: cooking would be number one for me, and I also love reading (all kinds of books), and I enjoy Jazzercise. I am married to Michael Bentley.
