Stockton Folk Dance Camp History
For nearly 70 years, lovers of folk dance and music have been gathering to learn, celebrate and preserve traditional dances from around the world. Stockton Folk Dance Camp was founded in 1948 by Lawton Harris in collaboration with a number of other key volunteers. Since then the camp has been a major promoter of international folk dance, presenting over 5,800 traditional dances with the help of more than 210 teachers and thousands of students.
