Scholarship applications are now being accepted
Camp scholarship workers are an important part of the team that makes our camp run smoothly. All scholarship recipients, especially first-time campers, tend to get more involved with camp.
Our number one priority is awarding scholarships to first time campers, young dancers, folk dance leaders and potential folk dance leaders. Severity of financial need, a good attitude and willingness to work are also important factors.
We also want to encourage folk dance leaders and potential leaders who may wish to attend both weeks of camp, but just can’t quite rationalize the extra expense in their annual budget. The extra week at Camp often gives the opportunity to attend additional classes, and refine the dancing style before returning home to teach the dances.
For each week of camp we accept about 12 scholarship campers. The typical work scholarship amount is $460, with some exceptions.
A letter of reference from someone who is qualified to judge your character and achievement potential in the folk dance field is also required. Please include the reference letter with your appliation.
