Marcella Lawson 💖
Marcella Lawson is very grateful to have grown up in a folk dancing family. While she didn’t dance for about 20 years when career and children took priority, she was so glad to return to it. Now she dances a couple of times a week, teaches at her club and others nearby, as well as sings and dances in two local folk dance bands.
Marcie Van Cleave 💖

Marcie Van Cleave has been the Executive Director of the Folk Arts Center of New England for over 35 years now! Which is all very nice, but what REALLY gets her jazzed is teaching and leading dances, and forming communities in the process. In-person or on zoom, in her own backyard, around the US, or overseas – dances are shared, friendships are made, and life is good. I think we would all agree with that …. so let’s get moving!!
Stacy Rose 💖

Stacy Rose, a long time SFDC camper, is a dedicated folk dance instructor based in Coos Bay, Oregon. She has a rich background in traditional dance and music. Since 2009, she has been teaching international folk dance classes, celebrating over 15 years of instruction.
Beyond her teaching, Stacy organizes events that promote traditional American music and contra dancing. Stacy is a musician, playing several instruments in a variety of traditional music ensembles. Stacy’s efforts to unite communities through dance were highlighted in the documentary film “Take Hands,” (available on YouTube) which follows her work in organizing a week-long celebration of these traditions in Coos Bay.
Stacy’s passion for dance and community building continues to inspire many, fostering a deeper appreciation for folk traditions in the Coos Bay area and beyond.
